Feeling Gutsy?

Hi lovelies! No Whey Lady here!

You’re probably wondering either one of two things: Who are you really? How in the world did you get here? Both of these questions are totally valid and are actually funny stories. Let’s start from the beginning...

I’ve suffered from food allergies for many years. First it was dairy, then it was corn and then when I was diagnosed with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), the gluten had to go to. Along the way, I developed what you could call a sixth sense for listening to my body. Shortly after dropping gluten, I noticed that coconut (with the exception of coconut oil) – as great as a gluten-free replacement as it is – just did not jive with my body. That left me pretty much where I am today: a dairy-free, gluten-free, corn-free and predominantly coconut-free lady.

A little less than a year ago – after being questioned about my eating habits every time I didn’t eat out at dinner or brought Tupperware lunch with me or attended a family event – I decided to post them! I utilized Instagram and my blog as an outlet for my annoyance and frustration that my food restrictions caused me. I took something that others viewed as a troublesome situation and turned it into something beautiful.

After struggling with ongoing gut issues (as I’m sure many of you reading this have experienced yourself), I enrolled in a nutrition consultant program to learn more about my own system and its relationship with food, as well as the lifestyle in which I chose to immerse myself. At the same time, I became a dog mom and started a new day job! While change is good – not to mention totally necessary – it can also throw your schedule and body out of whack.
