Feeling gratitude is something that both comes easily to me, and yet sometimes takes effort. Life can be stressful and challenging, and in those moments, it is more of an exercise to return to a state of gratitude. But most of the time, I can easily find something for which to be grateful and I believe that mindset is an important part of maintaining a well-balanced, healthy life.

I find that if I take the time to express gratitude throughout the day, my head feels clearer, my heart feels lighter and I even sleep better! Gratitude is not just acknowledging the incredible abundance and opportunity in my life, but also the air in my lungs and people in my world who bring out the best in me.

How Changing Your Diet Can Change Your Life

I have loved good food and enjoyed cooking for as long as I can remember. I bought my first cookbook when I was in second grade and found my way into the kitchen as often as I could. As a child, I helped my father in the garden – watering plants and vines, and watching miracles happen. I come from a large Italian-American family with 28 first cousins (on one side of the family!) where sit-down holiday dinners for 100 people are the norm. Some of my fondest memories are of family gatherings – both large and small – with long tables full of bowls and platters piled high, the laughter of my cousins echoing and the comfort of tradition warming my soul.
